July 17th, afternoon, 4:30. The sun outside was still scorching, baking the entire city into a thick, sticky cake of heat. We were standing at the entrance of People's Park, me and Xiaohui, both sweating profusely despite wearing light T-shirts that were already clinging to our bodies like wet rags.

"This weather is simply unbearable," Xiaohui complained, wiping the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand. He was a relatively calm person, but even he was starting to show signs of the heatstroke.

I sighed and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's been like this for days. Guess we're stuck indoors for the rest of the summer then."

Xiaohui's eyes brightened. "Indoors? What about our plans for tonight? Are we still going to hang out at that new café by the river?"

I laughed, "How could I forget? We've been looking forward to that place for ages. But first, we need to get out of this heat. How about we go for a walk in the park first and cool down a bit?"
