“Checkpoint,” Sunny said. The yellow minivan rumbled along the park path as she navigated the polished map with her finger.
Byeong-hee adjusted the strap of the Brownie camera, her cheeks flushed.
Sunny sighed. It was hard to explain. She had been dancing since she was a child. Her parents had paid so much money for her lessons, hoping she could become a professional dancer someday. They had sacrificed so much for her dream. She would study at Kyung Hee University to continue her passion.
But then she met him. He was a photographer, and he saw something special in her. He took her photos, and they fell in love. But he didn't know about her past, about her family's expectations.
"Why are you taking these photos?" Sunny asked.
Byeong-hee smiled. "I want to remember this moment."
Sunny nodded, her heart aching. She wanted to move forward, to leave the past behind. But she couldn't. She owed everything to him, and she couldn't bear to lose him.
